Who are Free and Accepted Masons?
Basically,
we’re a fraternity of men who work together to improve our lives in
an
atmosphere of fellowship. We are not a service club, but we have our own
charitable causes, like driving patients free of charge to receive c
an
cer treatments in the hospital,
an
d some of our other bodies are involved with things like Children’s
Hospitals
an
d others involved in the fight against autism. We practice a philosophy
of respect for all, assistance to the less fortunate, and without being
pretentious, a search for the broader meaning and purpose of life. We
try to live our lives as charitable
an
d caring people. We’re a private group, as opposed to a secret group,
as some have suggested. We don’t go waving the flag around about our
causes, we just do what we c
an
in our lives to make ourselves
an
d our communities better. We
have lots of education in our meetings, both Masonic
an
d non-Masonic, to learn about our history,
an
d our role in the world we live in. We’re the oldest fraternal group
in the world,
an
d we have members who come from all walks of life. We’re not a
religious group, or a religion, but we do have a belief in a Supreme
Being. There’s really not much else to say. We‘re just a group of
guys trying to make a difference in our lives,
an
d the world around us.
